Four Champions Crowned at Men's Net

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Daniel Gonzalez, Chris McCracken, Dan Perez and Ron Bauman raised the trophies at the Men's Net Championship on Sunday at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.

Gonzalez was victorious in the Under 50 Division, while McCracken prevailed in the 50-59 Division. Perez came out on top in the 60-69 Division, and Bauman took home the win in the 70 & Over Division.

Under 50 Division

Gonzalez went wire-to-wire to take home the victory in the Under 50 division. He opened the championship with a first-round 72, with a net eagle on the second, to take a one-shot lead over the field. He secured the victory with a final-round 78 to finish the championship at 6-over 144. The Bonita Springs native was the lone player in the division to post an even-par or better round.

Bobby Martin put together two rounds of 75-76 to finish second at 7-over 151, while Josh Benson finished in third at 7-over 151, both players adding a net eagle during the championship.

50-59 Division

McCracken earned the Men’s Net Championship victory in the 50-59 division in wire-to-wire fashion. The Winter Park native fired a first-round 68 in Saturday’s first round. He secured the win on Sunday with a final-round 79, including a net eagle on the 16th, to finish at 3-over 147.

Paul Vassallo used rounds of 76-74 to finish second at 6-over 150, while Howard Van Nostrand finished in third at 7-over 151.

60-69 Division

Perez put together rounds of 70-76 to secure the victory in the 60-69 division. He began the championship with a first-round 70 to sit one shot back of the leader heading into the final round. The Riverview native carded a final-round 76 on Sunday to earn the victory.

Barry Borgmeyer finished second at 4-over 148, while Jerry Fleming finished third at 4-over 148.

70 & Over Division

Bauman fired a final-round 68 the win in the 70 & Over division at 3-over 147. The Clrmont native started the championship with a first-round 79 to sit seven shots back of the leader. Bauman used a final-round 68, including a net eagle on the 14th, to wrap up the victory. This is the fourth Men’s Net Championship win for Bauman and his first since 2020.

Art Mann took home second place at 5-over 149, while Bruce Moskovciak finished third at 5-over 149.
